Stumbled upon the first bit of scheduling news for the Pilots on Twitter today.

Just guessing, but this may be the last "tune-up" game before the beginning of the expanded WCC season which could begin immediately after Christmas.

EDIT: The WCC season begins on December 28 for the men, and I believe December 20 for the women.

By "Lafayette" I thought DD meant the Louisiana school that Theo Akwuba dominated at after he left UP.

Turns out the Lafayette Leopards play out of Easton, Pennsylvania. First time the Pilots will play a Patriot League team since beating Army in 2010.

Pretty random matchup!

As expected, the 11 team WCC will play an 18 game** unbalanced WCC schedule this coming season.  Meaning each team will play eight schools twice and two schools only once.

For UP, it means the Pilots will play all teams twice except Santa Clara and San Francisco whom they will play only once this coming season.

UP will matchup against the Broncos in the Chiles Center and against the Dons in War Memorial.

(**The women are expected to have a 20 game WCC schedule)

The UP men will NOT be playing Nevada this year...last year's game in Reno was a "buy game" for the Pilots.

However, the women will be in Reno playing three games beginning the Friday after Thanksgiving.

I've heard the Pilots will get their usual two non-D1 games in this year, one of which will be Lewis & Clark to open the season on November 6 and the other against Willamette a couple of days after final exams, December 16.  

We may not like these non-D1 games, but it can still be entertaining basketball, and with an almost entirely new team, to include 11 freshmen, these non-D1 games are probably a good move this season.

I think UP lost its chance to host Kent by going to Hawaii last season, so it would appear the Pilots will be going to Kent in early December again this year...not an easy place for fans to get to from Portland.

Apparently, there is some uncertainty about UP and PSU getting together this season...

Currently, it looks like five home games, but there could be one or two added:

12/1 - Denver
12/16 - Willamette
12/18 - Cal St. Bakersfield
12/21 - Lafayette

WCC play begins on 12/28.

Considering the changeover in players and the number of freshmen on the squad, it is no wonder UP is not getting any respect.

UP will play at Kent on December 6, and Kent will come to the Chiles Center during the 2025-26 preseason, according to reports.

I am seeing reports that UCSB will play in the Chiles Center on 11/9.

The game at Wyoming that was mentioned early in this thread was dropped because the Mountain West Conference schedule is starting earlier than expected...however, there may still be a chance of getting rescheduled for this season.

I am told Coach Legans would much prefer to have his team play "closed scrimmages" against D1 opponents instead of playing exhibition games against lesser opponents as the Pilots once did, and that two of those "secret games" are in the planning stages for October...

If the past is an indicator, someone will no doubt find a crumpled-up box score in the wastebasket after the game for us to ponder.

However, PSU will be playing Evergreen St., Northwest Indian College, and Walla Walla at home during the preseason, and will travel to exotic places like Stockton and Bakersfield.

Pilots will be playing USF (South Florida) in the first round of the Myrtle Beach Invitational.

USF went 25-8 (school record) last year and won AAC.

They return 3 players who started at least 13 games

Getting excited about the upcoming basketball season, so I decided to check in on my Pilot Nation, but not much happening here? I hope the team, Legans, and the staff has a great year. WCC basketball is much more exciting when Portland is in the mix, competing in the PK, playing above 500 and a threat to take down mighty Gonzaga. Go Pilots!
