2024-25 Schedule

WBB will be playing a three-game tournament in Reno on November 29, 30, and December 1...the Friday, Saturday, and Sunday during Thanksgiving weekend.

Teams in addition to Nevada and Portland TBA.

The teams are:
Nevada
Southern Utah
Portland
Central Michigan

WBB WCC play begins early this year, December 19.

Unlike MBB, who will play an 18-game WCC schedule, the women will be playing all 10 other teams twice...so, a 20-game schedule.

Apparently, the last non-conference game for the Pilots will be at home against PSU on December 13...the last day of final exam week.

As the team has done in the past, the Pilots will play Sacramento St. in a "closed scrimmage" in October in Ashland before coming home for an exhibition game against Willamette on November 1.

Tentatively, the actual first game of the season will be at home against Hawaii on November 7 before playing Corban in the always fun and raucous 11AM game as part of the area Catholic school kids spending the day on campus on November 12.

Looks like the Pilots will be heading to Cheney, WA to play the EWU Eagles on Sunday afternoon, 11/17, and then return home to play Seattle U. on 11/19 and Cal Baptist on 11/23 before heading to Reno for the "Nugget Classic" 11/29-12/1.

The preseason is still three months away and WCC play 4 1/2 months from now, but it's already getting exciting...

Looks like the team is enjoying a great European vacation!  Not much competition (3 easy wins), but hopefully some good team building and an awesome experience. The blog posts on the team website from Wally the Pilot are fun to read if you haven’t seen them.

WBB played its annual scrimmage in Ashland against Sacramento St. over the weekend and did quite well.

Apparently the "old guard" of Emme, Maisie, McKelle, were joined by transfers Trista and Alexis in leading the team, and Dyani and Lainey were also big contributors.

The College Insider Women's Mid-Major Top 25 is out, and the clear favorites to be the best in the nation is Gonzaga.

UP received some votes, enough to be considered #28, I guess, but two of UP's opponents are in the Top 25, Hawaii at #19 and Cal Baptist #21.  Another opponent, EWU, received enough votes to be considered #31.

UP opens the season against Hawaii on November 7 at 6pm in the Chiles Center.

Interesting. Gonzaga lost a lot off of last year’s team. They return Ejim and some good role players. They also added a couple quality transfers. They will be really good, but I’m surprised they are such an overwhelming #1 in this poll. Watch out for South Dakota State. They’re solid.

I note that no other WCC schools received any votes. But future member (maybe, maybe not) GCU was ranked #18.

And how are OSU and WSU evaluated? They are members of the WCC (temporarily), but are they considered mid-majors or not?

Pilots had an exhibition game with Willamette this evening.  They dominated.  Leading scorers were Burnham, Shearer, Mark, and Mogel off the bench.

Dyani Ananiev and Trista Hull should be back in action within a couple of weeks...

Anna Eddy, a senior, may play a few minutes this season.

We can expect to see New Zealanders Flo Dallow and Melika Samia next season.

I'm so excited for this season. Watching Dyani in a boot was a little concerning. Hope she returns soon. Watched Trista in the exhibition game. She looks great. Rhyan looked much more patient and ready to really step it up. Going to be a fun year.
