Re: 2011 schedule
When I looked at the 2010 attendance pattern, it looked to me like there was a solid base of about 2500 non-student fans. So, if we all bring a friend or two, we should have sellouts. Also, the Villa alums have covered games when the student body wasn't on campus.
Re: 2011 schedule
A few more teams are posting their fall schedule now. Including Ohio State, Syracuse, Loyola (MD) and New Hampshire. OSU has UNC on their schedule. Loyola a few ACC teams. You can find these on the recruiting spreadsheet on the news feed tab. Also, a lot of spring schedules posted too.

.I see UW is not playing USC. Do they all have 10 conference games this year?
Actually, it looks like the Pac 12 will play everyone in their confernece as I review UCLA's & Wash. Normally, they would play 11 non league games, now they are playing 9. By the way, according to Wash schedule, they do play USC on 10/14

Re: 2011 schedule
UW plays USC on 10/14 in Seattle. It's a little confusing. You will note that UW- UCLA isn't listed on the UW schedule as a conference game.
Also, another school had Utah listed, but not as a conference game.
It appears that all the schools will have 10 Counting conference games, but we are probably going to have to wait for the composite schedule to come out to be sure.

Re: 2011 schedule
UCLA posted their 2011 schedule with 11 PAC-12 games. Their non-league schedule looks relatively pedestrian in terms of strength of schedule with the only "powers" being Florida and Rutgers. Maybe they figure the Pac-12 will be sufficient to help their RPI. Or they plan to start a young team.

Re: 2011 schedule
Since they don't list conference games specifically and UW doesn't list their game as a conference game, we still don't know if that game will count in the conference ranking.
The thing that strikes me is that the only time UCLA leaves California in non- conference is when the go to Knoxville to play Tennessee/Florida.
Otherwise, all their Non conference games are at home or a bus ride across town. The budget must have been cut back.

I'm seeing a few more than that if I'm looking at the correct schedule. There's also: Rutgers, SMU, Fresno State, and Colorado...

I believe you're just seeing the early season non-conference games...

Re: 2011 schedule
I was talking about the games the team itself schedules, not the games they have to play to belong to the conference and are mandated by the PAC12.
Fresno State is at Drake, but even if it were an away game, it is a bus ride within the bounds of the Golden State. Google maps says 3:40, about what it has taken me to get to LAX from downtown LA.
The Rutgers game and SMU are also at Drake Stadium. Only visiting fans sit outside the state.

Re: 2011 schedule
Yes, you're right several of the games are at Drake Stadium. Of course, travelling to Pullman is a little bit like going to another country.
I wonder if they'll ever re-organize women's Pac-12 soccer into the Pac-12 North and South. That would cut down on travel expenses even more by keeping things in CA and AZ for them...

Re: Pac 12 teams, it looks like to me that all of the teams in the Pac 12 will count as 6 of the 7 teams that have posted their respective schedules have an asterisk after all of them, UCLA, just lists all of them without any asterisk and 5 of the teams have yet to post their 2011 schedules. i think, maybe the confusion is, at one time a couple of the schools did not have an * after a particular Pac 12 team, which seemed to indicate that maybe only 10 of the games would count for league standings. Both of the schools, (UW and I think Utah), now have * after all Pac 12 teams.

Nothing official posted yet that I've seen, but I hear that in addition to Stanford we have Florida State here in August and USC here within a few days of Stanford. I hope this is more than just a rumor.

I think UPSF got confused by the notation they used.
the 9/30 conference date is interesting. do you suppose we were close to adding another team when the schedule was made up?

Re: 2011 schedule
I corrected the posted schedule, including the UC Irvine date. With the as yet unknown team, the Pilots would have 20 games, which is the maximum allowed. I assume there is something in the works because otherwise, there would be a gap between Cal State Northridge on 9/25 and BYU on 10/6. The Pilots typically do not go that long between games.
What interests me is "TBD Conference." Most likely, the word "Conference" should not have been included in the published schedule. But, I'm wondering if there is a plan to schedule a game with a particular conference. I'd be guessing the Big 10, the Big 12, or the SEC. (I know that the numbers are not right anymore.)

that's what I mean. do you suppose that what was to be determined was whether there would be another team in the WCC?

He gets them from his own efforts and from the efforts of a couple of other D1 women's soccer fans. The site is done entirely on a volunteer basis. I don't know if the Geez has input any schedules this year, but in the past he has been one of those who has entered data into the site's database. I think it's been a couple of years now that I also have worked with the site's author, but my work has been on the RPI side. And, we use each other's RPI systems to identify and correct any glitches that either of us might have.
It is a labor of love for women's college soccer!
Re: 2011 schedule
If I am reading it correctly, it looks like all the games that one would expect to be tough are at home. That should help.
