Re: Clive Post Comments
thank you geezer.
i became a soccer fan when i was in what is now called middle school when the timbers played an my brother an i standed in line from sw 20th/sw salmon to the box office at sw 18th/morrison for playoff tickets.
then it was peter withe, an jimmy kelley, et all. but they are what drew me in. then came jimmy conway, an clive, an the mcgant brothers [thank god they are sinc's uncle's!!] an of course, bill irwin!!
because of the timbers i became a soccer fan, but i didnt come out to u of p to watch the girls until i kept reading an reading about tiffeny. i finally decided that i had to see the person play. i think since tiff's senior season i have maybe missed 10 home games total. i rearrainge my work schedule so i can watch our girls play. garrett is the a perfect clone of clive, an for that matter, so is lauren.
may clive's tradition an dedication live on always!!!

Re: Clive Post Comments
Feel free to post some pics on the forum, and they can be moved to their own special thread, if need be.
I would rather maintain the original thread as it is... but the more the merrier!

Re: Clive Post Comments
For me this is Geezer's best find yet. A great story that really shows the Clive we all loved. Now I might have to save up for a Hammers shirt, with Clive's name and number.

Re: Clive Post Comments
I agree the piece on Clive was terrific, but I'm a little embarrassed that anyone thinks I had very much to do with finding that. a few of you have PM'd or emailed me, and to each I have explained the truth of it, as I did in the introductory post.
The piece was dumped in my lap by one of Clive's former players, who did all the work of transcribing it for the forum.
That player is now a coach, as are many of his former players, which I think makes the piece a little more special when I read it.
I just passed it along.
