This morning Kristine Lilly and Hope Solo were on the Today Show and brought some with them (it was too cold to wear them).

They cannot possibly be serious.

Somehow, this harkens back to "A League of Their Own" where the players had to wear shirts.
Several of them said they spent whole seasons with rasberry thighs.

"Tighter shorts, for example," Blatter told SonntagsBlick. "In volleyball the women also wear other uniforms than the men. Pretty women are playing football today. Excuse me for saying that."

Umm. You're not excused. How much older is this dude than all of the players?

Yep, that's the official supplier of the entire league... The ladies have the skorts as a uniform "option" just as players can typically choose between short sleeves, 3/4 sleeves or full sleeves... Now they have the shorts/skorts options...

(Don't let the Ducks get any ideas for football, that would add another 465,789 uniform options)

This has to be Geezers funniest typos ever. I am hoping he meant skirts.

The one on the left seems to be Amy Rodriguez. That kid is game, but I just cannot picture her playing a game of footie in one of those.

NO but seriously, I hope Puma offers a bonus for players who wear their latest creation...

I don't suppose the players have a union which would help them negotiate their way out of this foolishness.

No... They need the league to survive longer than 2 years before they start worrying about stuff like that... I think the skorts are an "option"... It will be interesting how many players actually end up playing with them

Don't get too excited/offended. The players are not going to play in those things. For clarification on what they are, see this WPS official statement: http://womensprosoccer.com/newsitem_ektid9342.aspx

So...it's a skirt wrap....to put on over their shorts? Because soccer players need to look more feminine going to and from the field? Am I the only still thinking WTF? I follow clothing trends quite closely too, and I can honestly say I've never seen this. ever.

Yeah... Bad PC

I fail to see the point in wearing a "warmup" article that's barely longer than the shorts themslelves... I mean a long logo towel or sarong might make SOME sense, at least functionally... But unless they plan on wearing bikini bottoms I don't understand how that "wrap" really covers anything more than shorts do.

My head just exploded...
