Re: UofP vs. NAU (Nov. 14th, 8 p.m. Kickoff)
According to the Oregonian's write-up, tickets go on sale wednesday at 11 am. Is this going to be a sell-out for a night game?

Re: UofP vs. NAU (Nov. 14th, 8 p.m. Kickoff)
Are they selling a single ticket to both games, or are both games ticketed indivudually? I'd like to watch Tex V WSU, but that doesn't mean I want to pay for it

Good question, aleppiek... I'm pretty sure because it's a tournament game, the NCAA mandates ticket prices. Don't think they'll be able to do a 2-for-1. But I could be wrong.

I think it's a single admission for both Friday matches and a separate one for Sunday. At least that's the way the season ticket form was structured.

Right... but I think the sticking point is the NCAA mandating that tickets be sold for the first game. But like I said, I'm honestly not sure.

Re: UofP vs. NAU (Nov. 14th, 8 p.m. Kickoff)
From the Stanford Web site:
"Tickets are available for both days of competition, and can be purchased at Stanford's ticket office adjacent to the football stadium this week, or at the soccer box office on game day. Purchasing one ticket on Friday will be good for admittance to both first round games, but fans will have to purchase another ticket for Sunday's second round match."
I assume that UP can (and will) do the same.

You have to think they were a little deflated when the brackets were announced.

Can't think of a better way to bookend your season. Come to Portland in the fall, come to Portland in the winter.
Oh. And lose in the fall, lose in the winter.

Northern Arizona is #136 on the RPI list (in other words, in the middle third of D1 teams). Its final regular season record was 11-6-3. However, they won 10 out of their last 13 games. They outscored their opponents 29-25. Would have been 28-15 except for their coming to the tournament here. Washington's win over them was 3-1.

Re: UofP vs. NAU (Nov. 14th, 8 p.m. Kickoff)
Weather forecast for Friday is looking slightly better. 20% chance of rain.
Have to feel sorry for NAU who have gotten spanked by the Pilots once this season.
At least this time they don't have to worry about Elli shredding them for speed. But now Sophie and Megan R are in playoff mode, and our freshmen are more experienced. Interesting to listen to podcast and hear Keelin talk about Michelle O. Keelin makes the point that defensive midfield was a new position for her last year - and it took her some time to learn it and get comfortable. MO has never played there before and she's getting better with every game.
It will be fascinating to see how this team steps up to the challenge in these games. It's a chance for some of them to shine. We expect Megan R and Sophie to be leaders, but how will MO and Kassi and Charney and Danielle handle the opportunity. Korie gets chance to go out in style. Jessica has gotten stronger and more influential.
Here's hoping the remaining Pilots stay healthy through the playoffs.
Friday night, under the lights at Merlo; should be a sell out.
LET'S GO PILOTS!!!!!!!
ps. Circumstances beyond my control dictate change of name from Martin Jol to Harry Redknapp. You can call me " 'arry".

It looks like we made NAU a better team by trouncing them. Maybe it won't be so easy this time. I do hope it will though. I don't know if I have enough fingernails for a slow gametracker.

Re: UofP vs. NAU (Nov. 14th, 8 p.m. Kickoff)
Harry Redknapp!!! Is there any coincidence he has managed Portsmouth back to relevance and Portsmouth takes us to Merlo (indirectly).... No probably not, maybe Peter Crouch has a sister who wants to be a pilot to further the connection....
I'm pretty stoked to actually go to a game and sit through the whole thing for once!!! (Long story)
