Had a quick talk with Cyp Hyde last evening...said he'd gotten an offer from Cal State San Marcos which he said, "would be pretty close to home for me."

I asked him about D1 offers, and he said he talked to "close to 20 schools" but that Navy and VMI and one other were the only D1 schools that had reached out to him.

Transfer portal windows will remain. Which is good. I couldn't handle players announcing their transfer all year long.

“Scoring on the block, rebounding, just being a presence down there,” he said.

Vucinic is from Bijelo Polje, a town in the Balkan country of Montenegro that is 15 kilometers from the border with Serbia. He spent time with WSU’s Serbian players in Marko Sarenac and Nemanja Sarenac during his visit to the campus last month.

“We can’t express ourselves fully in English so for me to have someone I can talk to in Serbian means a lot,” Vucinic said.

Very disappointing to hear Tyler Harris lasted one year. UP aggressively recruited him and provided him with an incredible opportunity to play more minutes than nearly any other freshman in the country. He was great, but one and done? I never expected him to last four years but his quick exit is disappointing.

The final day for the Transfer Portal for MBB and WBB is May 1st. Does that mean that is the last day a student-athlete can submit their name to the school compliance officer, or the last day the name can be submitted to the NCAA (the school has 2 days to submit)?

Is there any time frame for student-athletes in the portal to withdraw? Is there any time frame for them to commit to a new NCAA school? There is a Recruiting Calendar for high school and juco athletes; is there any calendar for evaluating transfer portal athletes?

Unlike previous years, this is the first year grad-transfers are also affected by the May 1 deadline to turn in their paperwork to the compliance officer of their university.

Just as there is no calendar or deadline for a student-athlete to withdraw their name from the portal, there is no deadline or window for them to commit/sign with another school or to be evaluated by a school.

Thanks. So by the end of the week, we'll stop seeing new portal entries. But the process to signing portal players goes on, so we'll still have something to talk about.

The last I heard, Tyler was looking to be closer to home in California, perhaps even one of the WCC schools in the Bay Area.

Someone made a chart of the winners and losers in the 2024 transfer portal. I see several WCC schools in the Lost Player Value and Experience side of the ledger.

There are over 1,100 players uncommitted in the portal per Verbal Commits, so there will be changes in that chart. But lots more losers than winners.

Played in 12 games while starting 11 in his short time on The Bluff.

Of all the Pilots to go in the portal this spring, I believe Yuto has the most upside and potential...I wish him well.
