The Trailblazers have drafted Scoot Henderson with their #3 pick. Henderson left high school a year early to play two years in the G League. Three of the first 5 picks were G League players. The top pick is a player from France. The only top-5 player with NCAA experience is Brandon Miller from Alabama, who played one year there.

The 6th, 8th, 9th and 10th picks are also One-and-Dones. The 7th pick is also from France. So the Top 10 players in the NBA draft have a total of 5 years of NCAA experience.

The first WCC player drafted was not a Zag this year, it was Brandin Podzeimski from SCU at #19. Goes up the road to the Warriors. Wonder how much time he'll get behind Curry and now Chris Paul?

Also, Coach Spoelstra and Pat Riley at the Heat took the only four-year NCAA player in the first 20 players, Jaime Jaquez Jr. from UCLA.

Two other WCC players were drafted: #29 Julian Strawther (his 40 point game against Pilots was mentioned) and #40 Maxwell Lewis from PU.

GU’s Drew Timme was not drafted and apparently signed with the Bucks.

So I saw an article today critical of Malika Andrews covering the draft. I guess at some point she mentioned that the #2 pick Brandon Miller's name has been connected to a murder. The article said she was too negative and was ruining a young man's big moment. Shocking that a young black woman sports commentator would comment on the murder of a young black woman, allegedly by a former teammate of Miller's, and Miller was present at the scene of the crime. Be a shame to ruin the player's big day with a minor thing like that.
