Dani in Russia - 2012
Dani's team, FK Energiya Volzhsky, has played 5 games, not 2 as was posted previously. The team is in second place at 2-1-2 with 47 points behind division leader, Rossiyanka, which has 51 points. Their next game is on Wednesday. If you haven't read her blog yet, please do...it is not only informative about soccer, her team, and the town she lives in, but it gives great insight into the wonderful young lady that she is. (daniellefoxhoven.blogspot.com)
For those who are covering the games, please continue to post them as before and feel free to use this for commenting on Miss Dani and posting photos of her and her life in Russia.
This photo is with some of her team at the men's game.

It works fine with the full header from here...
though it redirects to
http://dfoxhoven.blogspot.com.ar/
you might have to drop the .ar/
I wonder what FENKO sells?

Re: Dani in Russia - 2012
If you are using this website as your source for scores and her team's record:
http://women.soccerway.com/teams/russia/fc-energya-dyussh-voronezh/
or something similar, I suggest you look at the dates of the games. They play two halves of the season (as most Euros do) and the first three games were in the fall, well before Dani joined them.
She has played in the first two games of this spring's half of the season and has another tomorrow, which I will report just as soon as I can get the score.

Re: Dani in Russia - 2012
Thanks HRZag,
You are correct - the first three games I saw were from 2011 and I got the last game incorrect as well...it wasn't a tie, the P next to the 2-2 score is a penalty kick win.
The date for the current game is 4/26/2012 which is what it is in that time zone, so the 2-1 score I saw MAY be correct, but I am not sure.

Re: Dani in Russia - 2012
Actually, they are only 11 hours ahead, so, unless they played in the middle of the night after a 13 hour bus ride, I doubt it. Just sayin'.
I appreciate you wanting to get this out there. Dani is a wonderful young woman and she is having an incredible experience and we are so lucky to have her blog and her own words and pictures describing it and allowing us to join in the ride.
Judging from the past couple of games, we should have at the least, a score by around noon tomorrow.
Thanks for your interest.

Re: Dani in Russia - 2012
It looks like they won again, this time 3-0, but no information yet on who scored.

Thanks to Pilotpadre for keeping me looking back, just as Soccerjoy says above, Dani got all three in their 3-0 win.
22", 27", and 61" Awesome job Dani. Can't wait to hear the details. I will post just as soon as I hear from her.

Re: Dani in Russia - 2012
Actually that is 6 goals in three games, all but one of her team's goals.
2 in the first game, 1 last game (plus PK), 3 today. Wow.

For those who don't read Dani's blog, this is a picture in one of the taxis that were used for part of her transportation ordeal for this last game.

Re: Dani in Russia - 2012
Just an update here.
For those of you following her, her team lost for the first time since she joined them, losing today 2-1. However, Dani was DNP Coaches decision. There was no injury or anything.
This game was not a league game, but rather, a Russia Cup game.
Coach is focusing on league and they have two big games coming up.

NEW blog entry from Dani.
She talks about the differences between American soccer and futbol in the rest of the world...and the similarities in the training for upcoming matches.
It's a very good read.
