Interesting Quote From Mark Few
“It’s really neat for Eric and Portland to be able to get into a tournament like Anaheim and make some noise and show everybody what a good team they have. I thought they were a very good team last year. They were one of the main reasons why we weren’t very good against Memphis (two days after winning at Portland). It took everything out of us and trying to explain that to people nationally, I think they laughed, but I think now they understand.”

We did give them a tough game here at home. Not sure if that's the reason they lost to Memphis, but still... nice of Few to say so.
I do know that Few likes Reveno and our staff a lot... he easily has the most recognizable name and most clout among WCC coaches, so it's cool that he's willing to praise us so openly. Just further legitimizes what Reveno is doing here on The Bluff.

I actually think the Zags have a more likable team this year; I think they lost a lot of ego and are a hard-working and humble team.
Clearly Few is praising us. Every Zag fan I know is cheering for us. Pretty much every WCC fan seems to be on our side, too. I think it is fair to recognize that the Zags are building a nice season with a young team of seemingly good-natured guys. January 9th should be a fun and tough game for everyone involved.

Agreed on the likeable team... of course the season is still young...
Of course, I like to think that Rev and the Pilots are pretty darn likeable, too!Last edited by PilotNut on Tue Dec 01, 2009 10:11 am; edited 1 time in total

Call me jaded but ...
The only reason Gonzaga people like us is because we lose to them all the time. I look forward to the day when we beat Gonzaga so regularly that we can blame a blowout home loss to a national powerhouse on them.
Sincerely,
RJ, who grew up listening to drunk Kennel Club members chanting "This is our house" in the Chiles Center.

Well, we did have one chant that always seemed to quiet them down a bit, something about where they lived or something... I won't repeat it so as to not offend PNut and SP11

Any recognition is fine with me. I don't really care what the motive is for Few's comments. Maybe he's just saying nice things now so that when they lose to us in the Chiles, there's less excuses he has to state to the media. If so, I'll take it.

says the one living in, ummm, The Aroma?!
haha, I have been known to join in that chant as well... But both SP11 and I have taken steps to no longer be subject to that one...

Well, once you get away from the freeway it isn't THAT bad (and now that there is only one paper mill)... And if you could see the view of Commencement Bay and Quartermaster Harbor right now you might change your view a bit... But that said, I admit, T-Town is a great place to be FROM and not a bad place to visit, but....
