Lots of Pilot Games on TV?

Hey... just saw this article about the new Comcast sports channel in today's Oregonian:

University of Portland and Portland State, schools, all but ignored by broadcast media in the past, also will receive enhanced coverage with 16 combined men's basketball games, four UP women's soccer matches and three PSU football games.

16 combined games... I'm guessing it'll be something like 8/8. Very cool! Now it would be even cooler if they picked up road games and not home games - that's what I'm hoping for. Can't wait to hear more details!

I just read the article, too... this is very cool news. This new Comcast channel is going to be great... hopefully it sticks around longer than ASCN...

Considering that it's being run by the cable company and not by Paul Allen, I'd give the odds on Comcast SportsNet sticking around as better than even.

I just saw a TV ad for the channel, it will be on Portland Comcast channel 37. The ad shows all sorts of clips form local sporting events, including a nice goal by Christine Sinclair and a dunk by someone on the hoops team, I couldn't tell who... need to see it again.

This channel is going to be great (even if programming centers on the Blazers!)

Wow! Channel 37 is a prime location, right next to FSN (34), ESPN (35) and ESPN2 (36). Seriously, that is HUGE.

So what happens to the History Channel? Lord knows I need my documentaries about Hitler and the Nazis!

Dont worry.... I got something in the mail from Comcast, and the History Channel is just moving somewhere else... there is a cascading change of channel assignments, and I think it was MSNBC that is going away on the standard package.

I mean who hasnt got sucked into a documentary on the history of beer and brewing?!
