Here's an interesting piece.

I never took her off the web Spider (I'm lazy), so I got a link to this little interview with BYU players, including Lindsey Lissonbee.

If you recall, she committed to UP along with Cloee, then changed her mind and went to BYU.

Looks like she's happy.

I didn't realize that BYU had such a fan base. The article says that they attract 3,000 fans to their home games. If true, this would make them (with Portland, North Carolina, and Texas A&M) one the top draws in NCAA women's soccer.

3,000 might be a large crowd. the average is half that or so..
They built a very nice new stadium a couple of years ago last year, and have been slowly growing their fan base.
They were 6th in the Nation last year in attendance. I would imagine if they contend for a couple of years, their attendance could take off.

I wonder if you can paint the UP logo on fur lined seats?

How about just using sable ilo mink for the logo seats?

I'm sure PETA wouldn't mind if we caught some nutria and dyed their pelts purple... But then again I'm not sure that would really add to the luxury of the fur lined seat...

Lisonbee actually committed to Portland before her senior year at Park City.

"It wasn't a fit for me," she said. "BYU fits me spiritually and socially as well as soccer. Portland was just soccer. I'm not a person who likes to talk about soccer if I don't have to. I don't want people to just know me as Lindsi who plays and talks about soccer 24 hours a day."

Ok, so the University is Catholic instead of Mormon I get that, but it didn't fit her socially? So she didn't like the people on the team?

It sounds like she made the right choice...

Sounds to me like she didn't want to play at a school where women's soccer is as high profile as it is at Portland.
