2023-24 WCC Postseason Awards
Tyler Robertson was named 2nd Team All-Conference.
Tyler Harris earned All-Freshman Team honors.

The 10-man All-Conference team is all players from the top four schools with one exception, Michael Ajayi from Pepperdine, the leading scorer in the conference. Others are from SMC (Mahaney, Marciulionis, Saxen), GU (Ike, Nembhard, Watson), USF (Mogbo, Williams), and SCU (Bal).
Other 2nd Teamers are Ducas (SMC), Hickman (GU), and two USD players (McKinney, Turner). Honorable Mention players are from SMC, USF, SCU, LMU and PU. UOP was the only school with no players named.
Other All-Freshman are Ryan Beasley (USF), Jake Ensminger (SCU), Braden Huff (GU), and Kevin Patton Jr (USD).
Tyler R. was 3rd in scoring average, 5th in assists, and 1st in minutes played. He was also 1st in turnovers made. And I imagine he had to be first in minutes with the ball in his hands.
Bol Dengbit has similar stats to Ensminger. I have to think if he'd played more in the non-conference schedule, he would be All-Freshman as well. And team records obviously play a part as well.

Great line here from the GU boards: “…aside from the conference record, it's hard to make an argument for SMC being the better team than Gonzaga.”

The coaches vote on the conference awards. Bol Dengbit is the 3rd highest rated freshman on barttorvik.com, just ahead of Tyler Harris, and both are ahead of Patton. Huff isn't in the top 50. They probably didn't want to vote for two Pilots.
Also, looking at the barttorvik stats, Tyler Robertson could have been voted 1st team ahead of Adama Bal at SCU, but SCU finished 4th, and Bal was their highest rated player, although at 15th he is 3 places below T-Rob at #12. Ben Gregg #11 could also have been considered, but he would have been the fourth Zag. The other higher rated players were Mallette and Porter from PU.

After today’s tournament results, the zags have a firm lock on the “were number two” chant.

Re: 2023-24 WCC Postseason Awards
After watching the championship game, I do not have any issues with Marciulionis being POY and Saxen being DPOY.
