Pilots @ UOP 2/13
It was only about an hour's drive from a friend's house in the Bay Area to Stockton for tonight's game, but it really wasn't worth the effort...
And speaking of effort, IMO there was very little of that from most of the players in the second half tonight. I hate to be harsh on the guys, but they seemed to flat-out quit both physically and emotionally, and when a team quits, doesn't that have to be on the coaches?
Anyway, a 20 point loss with close to 20 turnovers and a lack of effort was embarrassing.
Maybe I'll feel differently in the morning...

It seems certain this is coach Porter's swan song. I hope there's a huge farewell crowd at the LMU game. I caught some of the pregame and as always was impressed with how articulate and optimistic he is. Then the game started and...

As they say in the movies, "Objection! Assumes facts not in evidence." We have nothing but our own speculation and hope that Porter is going to retire in the next couple months. We had six pages of this same conversation last year, including why he should leave, when, and who should replace him. And last year he won no conference games - this year he's got one. If you really want to honor somebody that has earned it, go to the UP vs Gonzaga women's game. Michael Meek is amazing and so is this team!bobtcat2 wrote:It seems certain this is coach Porter's swan song. I hope there's a huge farewell crowd at the LMU game.
