This is high season on the mountain, with literally hundreds of guides and clients on and around the mountain. I was checking the interwebs to see how a friend of mine, who survived avalanche and earthquake the last two attempts was doing.

It seems a 40' vertical rock section that was the final obstacle for climbers before the summit called the Hillary step is gone, probably because of the Earthquake that ended climbing two years ago. It was named for sir Edmund Hillary, who was the first to ascend it. Last year, there was so much snow nobody could tell if it was there.


Climbers are investigating whether Trump had the feature destroyed because he thought it was named for Hillary Clinton.
