Amazing Story About Coach Conner Empty Amazing Story About Coach Conner

Post by Stonehouse Fri Jan 11, 2008 8:22 am

Saw this in today's Oregonian:

For those not in the link-clicking mood:

University of Portland men's cross country and track coach Rob Conner will donate one of his kidneys Monday to a woman he's never met.

The procedure at Swedish Medical Center in Seattle, called a paired living donor exchange, will include two donors and two recipients. Conner's kidney will go to an unrelated woman, whose husband, in turn, will donate a kidney to Conner's mother, Shirley Conner, of Olympia.

Pretty amazing. Prayers that all the surgeries go well and that Coach Conner can come back strong!

Coach Conner never ceases to amaze me.

I have met him several times, and have always walked away impressed... what a great guy to have on campus.

Here's to a quick recovery!

An amazing guy. Somehow, I've come to expect stories like that about Rob.

I'm adding my prayers to all parties for a good and speedy outcome.

Update on Conner: He's doing really well. He came back to campus last Wednesday afternoon. Not only did he show us his cool scars but he is already driving the guys back up to the forest and is gearing up for the Husky Invite this weekend at UW.
