Re: Men's ranking
Impressive to see UMass-Lowell ranked so highly... they just moved up to D1 in 2014.
Very exciting for the Pilots... feels like it's been 4-5 years since the men were last ranked, though I could be wrong on that.
Of course, I can't help but wonder where we would be were it not for that road swoon against UC-Davis and Sac State a few weeks ago!

Re: Men's ranking
Ranked #54 in this week's NCAA Adjusted RPI, which is the rating that matters, although it's still a little early in the season for RPI purposes.
Re: Men's ranking
With a couple of big matchups ahead (Denver, Pacific, USD) I feel good about the RPI increasing... that being said, is the WCC a one or two bid league this year... probably have to be mid 30's in RPI to have an at large chance.

Re: Men's ranking
Is the men's tournament a 64-team event this year like the women or is it still 48 teams like recent years?

Twenty-four conference champions qualify automatically, and the other 24 are selected at-large by the NCAA.
Tournament seedings will be announced on November 14th....play begins on November 17.

Re: Men's ranking
As I thought. So the Pilots need to either win the conference or, if not, probably finish in the top 40 RPI to be assured of making it in based on the experience from the past. UPSF has been the real expert here and can probably state it better.

I don't follow the men's ratings in relation to tournament selections. But, if the men follow the same pattern as the women, which is likely, the men would have to be in the top 42 or 43 ARPI teams, in order to have a chance for an at large selection.

Right now, both scenarios are on the table. They are three points up for the conference title.
They just need to keep playing well.
