@ Portland St. -- Saturday @ 2 PM
Hmm, the pundits expect UP to lose its next 5 games, including the team’s last preseason matchup tomorrow at 2 o'clock against Portland St, by a score of 75-72.
PSU is 1-6 and UP is 6-4 with a quality win over UW. I’m not sure why the Pilots are not getting more respect except that PSU has played a much more difficult schedule to date…..or maybe they understand how teenagers can focus more on going home for Christmas than they often do on their next game.

If someone was to simply look at the score of this game, won by UP, 76-49, they might say it was a blowout, but it was NOT, believe me.
With about 6:00 left in the game, the Pilots led by only 1 point, 49-48. Yes, over the last six minutes UP outscored PSU, 27-1. I guess that’s what’s called winning it going away....because after the game the ladies headed out of town for Christmas.
Cassandra Brown was the catalyst for the run, scoring 17 points in those last 6 minutes.....totalling 24 for the game.
Next up for the Pilots....WCC play in Stockton next Saturday.

From Coach Jim Sollars after the game:
“We fiddle-farted around for the first 30 minutes, so I guess 10 minutes isn’t too much to ask,” Portland coach Jim Sollars said. “It’s Christmas. Right before Christmas, you can’t predict anything. Never have been able to.
