Re: Amanda is a first Team All American!!!
Fantastic news and a very deserved tribute to a tremendous athlete. I'm sure this justifies the sacrifice Amanda made for the greater good of the team. A role model for the current squad and future Pilots.

Re: Amanda is a first Team All American!!!
PORTLAND, Ore. --- Portland Pilots senior defender Amanda Frisbie was named to the 2013 NSCAA All-America First Team, which was announced on Friday morning. The 2013 MAC Hermann Trophy Semifinalist becomes Portland's first First Team All-American selection since 2009, when both Michelle Enyeart and Sophie Schmidt earned that distinction.
A forward for her entire career, Frisbie was named the West Coast Conference Defender of the Year in her first year playing on the backline. She helped the Pilots to nine shutouts and a 17-3-1 overall record, while also scoring eight goals and four game-winners.
Frisbie, who originally hails from McKinney, Texas, was also named to the NSCAA All-West Region First Team, as was teammate and fellow senior Ellen Parker. Seniors Erin Dees and Micaela Capelle landed on the all-west region second team, while midfielder Allison Wetherington, who was named the WCC's Freshman of the Year, was an all-region third team selection.

Interesting concept.
Not that I'm endorsing that, of course

Re: Amanda is a first Team All American!!!
Amanda has another accolade.
She is one of the three finalists for the Bill Hayward Amateur athlete of the year award!

Congrats to her. The only soccer players to get it are Sinclair, Milbrett, Macmillan, and Cox.
They had to get a championship or Gold, though, to win it.
And I see Christine and Morgan are up for the Glickman award.

Re: Amanda is a first Team All American!!!
Interesting to note that Chris Henderson in his earlier rankings of the current college players that are draft eligible for the NWSL, had Amanda ranked at No. 36. His latest one has her at No. 7.

I saw both of those. I don't think his first one really was intended as his rankings, although it looked that way. He thinks the chances of Amanda's lasting until #11, when the Thorns could draft her, are very slim. If she lasts to #7 and the Reign take her, I won't be very happy. That's the draft choice the Thorns traded away to Seattle in the Foxhoven for Moros and Marshall trade (do I have that right, Geez?). It would mean the trade cost us both Dani and Amanda.
Re: Amanda is a first Team All American!!!
The Dash have the 10th pick and being they are interested in grabbing some top Texas girls for their roster. She will most likely go there if she lasts that long.

Re: Amanda is a first Team All American!!!
I think she could go as early as 2. There are only really 2 defenders highly rated.
I'm kind of hoping she lasts until the NW teams pick.
I want to keep watching her.
UPSF, the reign's # 7 is the Foxhoven pick. Grr.
I don't think she lasts until 11

She goes to Seattle, at least she stays in the region and is playing with a lot of Pilots.

Re: Amanda is a first Team All American!!!
Amanda, Wetherington, and Dees were given awards at the first "annual" Wally awards gathering. In the past, they would hold these for each individual sport, but now are combining them into one extravaganza in the Chiles Center. The men did well too.
