WCC Players in the NBA Draft

I don’t pay attention to the NBA until it’s playoff time or the draft is about to happen…..and apparently the draft is Thursday.

Any guesses on WCC players going in the draft?

My guess is there will be two: GU’s Kelly Olynyk in the first round and BYU’s Brandon Davies late in the second round.

What about SMC’s Matthew Dellavedova?  I believe he could be invited to an NBA camp, and may even stick somewhere (San Antonio?), but I doubt he’ll be drafted.

GU’s Elias Harris and SCU’s Kevin Foster will play in Europe….

What do you think?

Elias should have left school after his Freshman year....

GU’s Kelly Olynyk is drafted #13 in the 1st round by Dallas and is immediately traded to the Boston Celtics where he can probably be an instant help this coming season.  

Wow, Anthony Bennett from UNLV goes #1 overall in the NBA draft to Cleveland.

Ryan Nicholas pulled down 19 boards and scored 16 against Bennett and UNLV last December. (Bennett had 6 rebounds and 18 pts.)

Hmm, quite a few "unknown" international players drafted, so BYU's Brandon Davies was left out.....

I'm sure he'll sign a free-agent contract somewhere and just hope he can stick.

A lot of these internationals will probably remain overseas and teams will avoid exceeding the salary cap while retaining the rights.....that's just the way it is in the NBA.

Probably too many character issue questions about him for the NBA.  

Reports indicate Davies will play on the LA Clippers Summer League team, and Delli will play with the Orlando Magic.

Looks like Elias Harris will take the usual GU route to a pro career through the Lakers....following Sacre, Morrison, and the guy most of us liked most, Turiaf.
