Take that BYU!
Women's soccer still leads the nation in attendance. Good job to all Pilot fans! Official News
PORTLAND, Ore. --- The Portland Pilots women’s soccer team led the nation in attendance for the seventh straight year after averaging 3,110 fans per game at Merlo Field last fall. 31,103 total fans attended UP women’s soccer games last season, making it the seventh straight year to top the 30,000-fan plateau.
BYU was second in the nation with a per-game average of 2,882 fans per game, giving the West Coast Conference the top two spots in the rankings. Portland was the only school in the country to average more than 3,000 fans per game.
Portland owns the NCAA record for attendance in a season when 47,082 fans attended UP women’s soccer games in 2008. The Pilots have topped the 40,000-fan mark during each of the past three seasons (2008-10) and have reached that figure four times overall, which is the most in the country. Texas A&M is the only other school to reach 40,000 fans in a season, accomplishing that feat in both 2006 and 2008.

That's awesome. I'd like to see that as a function of enrollment too.

What makes it even more amazing is we had no home tournament games. In the year we hit 47K, over 12K of it was three tournament games.
It's about on par with the 2005 season where we hit just over 40K and 10K was during the two tourney games.

It's also worth mentioning that the West Coast Conference had the second highest average attendance (second only to the Big 12) and teams in the western region of the US had the highest average attendance.
