Dani in Russia - 2012

Dani will come back even stronger for the next match. That 1st place team could be in for a beat down!!!

It's a FIRST!!!

The media finally made a mistake...imagine that.

FK Energiya was reported as losing 1-0 with the opponent scoring in the 19', but the credit for the goal was reported as Dani in the 51'. There is a huge error here...unless Dani changed teams (which I wholeheartedly doubt) so I am relying on HRZag to come up with the media error-breaker. That is, unless someone else has a Russian connection.

Oh, so sorry, I know I have been avoiding this. I wanted to hear from Dani before I said anything.

Actually the media got it right, on both counts. Energiya did lose 1-0, and Dani did score the lone goal, an own goal!

Dani said she was marking a big middle of theirs on a cross and momentarily lost the ball in the sun and it hit her in the chest and bounced in. She was pretty disappointed, but I am sure she will be fine.

I did kid her about at least keeping her scoring streak alive.

She did buy a new camera so expect some more pictures (and maybe video) in her blog posts.

Looks like another loss for FK Energiya...3-2. Dani played, but didn't score.

"The game was not a good game. We did not play well. We had many opportunities and were winning 2-0 with about 15 minutes left. We ended up losing 3-2 after some crucial mistakes we made. It was a slow game and could have been a completely different game if we put our chances away. I assisted the second goal and had many opportunities, although I wouldnt say it was my best game, I thought I played well. But, now we have to win our upcoming games to be sure to stay in 2nd place in league."

Glad to say that that was our last travel game and now we only have 2 more games. We have 2 weeks until the next game during which many girls will be gone, so I am sure Ximel and I will have more pictures to show you in a few days!

FINAL GAME coming up THIS week.

Dani's team lost again and are now tied for 2nd place in the Women's Supreme Division with Zorkiy.

The final games have Zorkiy playing the 1st. place team and Dani's team playing the 7th place team.

On paper this looks good, but in this game...anything...can happen and often does.

Dani's contract is over.

she got a concussion before the final game and had to sit out ( they lost 1-0), but she apparently did get to see the Euro2012 and will get to see some Olympic soccer. (Canada & Cameroon)
