Amy Pupa named to WCC All-Academic Team
Congratulations, Amy!
SAN BRUNO, Calif. --- Portland Pilots sophomore forward Amy Pupa has been named to the 2011-12 West Coast Conference All-Academic Team, which was announced on Monday. This is the first academic honor for Pupa.
Pupa, a native of Ventura, Calif., has started 29 games this season, which is the second most on the team. She is also second on the squad in rebounding at 5.3 boards per game, and she’s averaging 3.8 points and a career-best 1.7 assists per contest. A business major with a 3.49 grade point average, Pupa has two games this season with at least 10 rebounds, pulling down a career-high 15 against Portland State. She’s also scored in double figures twice.
At the conclusion of each athletic season, the WCC selects an all-academic squad for each WCC-sponsored sport. To be considered, a student-athlete must maintain at least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average, while also being a significant contributor to her team.

Re: Amy Pupa named to WCC All-Academic Team
Amy is very effective in the middle rebounding, blocking out, and altering shots. She missed the last game of the season against USD due to a concussion she suffered in the USF game. We have to hope she’s back for the SCU game on Thursday if we’re to have a chance.
BTW: The three seniors on this year’s team will all graduate on time with majors in Finance, Marketing and Engineering!
