Haven't heard of many other teams who've been ruled out of the postseason because of academic performance issues.

Well, at least we're winning the games we're supposed to win so far... Sooner or later, we'll notch a surprise victory...hopefully one on the road.

Next two games are at home, against mid-majors currently playing .500 ball. We need to win both of those before a 3 road game stretch that includes another Top 25 team. There are also some tough home games to finish the year (BSU, UT).

Too bad you will be losing the first to the mighty UC Santa Barbara Gauchos!

Amazing use of Steely Dan lyrics to fend of an opponent, Woodless. Truly! Smile

Gauchos will be tough. Very tough. I watched them nearly beat Oregon a week or so ago in The Pit.

The are 2-2, with wins over Fresno State (in Santa Barbara) and Denver and losses to Oregon and North Dakota State (the last three all in Eugene).

They are led Orlando Johnson (WCC freshman of the year while at LMU), who is averaging 26 a game (!), and James Nunally, who is averaging 17.

Good athleticism from all their guards and decent size... we are really going to need some good PG play to beat them, because we'll need to run our offense to get Jared and Nem open looks and we'll need to deal with their good perimeter athleticism.
