UP at SCU
The Pilot men pull off a 1-0 season-ending win over the conference leader and look more likely to get an at-large berth:

vanSchaik with his team-leading eigth goal in the 83rd.
Austin Guerrero now finishes his career as the WCC's all-time leader in shutouts in conference play. Well deserved.
Monday is the tourney selection. 1:30 PM PST on ESPNU.

Nice win against a tough rival on the road. Now we wait and hope for a couple teams to falter this weekend.

That's a huge feat for Guerrero. He passed up some impressive company. How many career shutouts did Keller finish with in conference play?

Good bounceback after disappointing results lately. Looks like Pilots will finish about same in conference as last year. Any idea what last year's RPI was when they got playoff invitation?

the last RPI had the Pilots at 77. last year it was somewhere in the high 20's - low 30's. at that point, they were considered right on the bubble.
Both of those numbers are approximate, because the NCAA doesn't publish the season end results.
But even a win over SCU probably isn't enough to boost them into the 48 team tournament field, is my guess.

Yeah, Santa Clara's RPI as of November 7th was 65th, so, you can probably split the difference and say that our new RPI might go up about 6 spots and put us around #71 possibly. So, nobody in the WCC will finish with a top 48 RPI from what I can tell...

Re: UP at SCU
The only hope is they look for regional teams in the first round in Men's soccer more than in the womens' brackets. UW will get in and they will look for a team close, perhaps. it would be real justice if we got in because of them.
