default March Madness

Post by Guest Thu Mar 18, 2010 11:26 am

And the craziness begins!
Down goes ND! #11 seed Old Dominion takes out the Irish.
BYU loses a 13 point lead with about 8 minutes to play, and it is off to overtime! UPDATE: make that double overtime!
And Villanova is struggling with Robert Morris. That would be #2 seed Villanova. So much for Big East superiority. Suspect

Madness, I say, madness!
Villanova goes to overtime with Robert Morris. (Who is Robert Morris?) (OK, back from wiki trip.)
BYU takes control in the 2nd overtime and beats Florida. Jimmer (not Jim or Jimmy) Fredette is the star for BYU.

I never EVER thought I'd be rooting for BYU... But damn, I'll take all the Jimmer I can get!

Robert Morris is coached by Mike Rice, Jr. Yes, son of the Trailblazer's Mike Rice.

The guy is a freak. I remember them taking the court this year, not knowing who he was. I was like -that's the guy?

I remember hearing the Zers Rice ramble about his son coaching... I just always assumed he was senile and making things up...

Villanova hangs on to beat Robert Morris in OT. If you have 'Nova going far in your bracket, good luck with that.

Sigh... yeah... Luckily that bracket is one of the weaker ones... But I don't think you're gonna see Scotty Reynolds go 2-15 every game... I mean, who do you think he is, Stephen Gray?

At the half: Murray St 36 - 32 Vanderbilt. Early on there are no high seeds that look dominate. Guess we'll need to wait to see the #1 seeds.

St. Mary's game is just underway;
live video

17-16 SMC right now

Omar owns the boards - Like 7 rebounds already.
SMC has outrebounded the spiders 11-1
5 turnovers, though.

Omar just got foul #3 with 6-1/2 minutes left in first half. Not good for Gaels.

17 points and 7 boards...3 fouls for him spells trouble for the Gaels.

More Madness! Murray State just beat Vanderbilt on a shot at the buzzer. That's a #13 over a #4, for those of you playing at home. I guess I should not have listened to the "experts" who counseled that the lower seeds will almost never win this year.

After 4 games, the "power" conferences are 1 - 3. I have to hope Baylor hangs on, or my bracket is toast.

Two timer! If I had a 9 iron handy, you'd be in trouble.

Darn it, that's what I get for listening to all that East Coast bias praising Richmond. I've got them into the Sweet 16. Evil or Very Mad
