we graduate four seniors this year. my question is, who will go first, michelle 'e' or kelsey? will teams be scared off of michelle because of her acl inj? is kelsey the future replacement for hope solo?? do sweeney an jacka have a realistic shot at playing at the next level? I think maybe sweeney.

Enyeart is on some "top five" draft watch lists, but there is some concern about her injury and when she'll be ready to go full speed. Kelsey has been mentioned as a draft pick, but a general concern is that Portland keepers aren't tested too much. I would think that any questions about her abilities would be answered fairly quickly, and I've only seen the concern mentioned once.

I have no doubt that Kelsey could play in the WPS is she so chooses!

I think that Megan Sweeney could make it in the pros. I know that she's height-challenged and not as fleet afoot as some, but she more than makes up for these deficiencies with fearlessness and a huge heart. I think that she'll be picked up in one of the later rounds of the draft.

Yeah, I have no doubt either. I think the discussion I saw recently on a WPS board didn't even mention the fact that she had been training with the U.S. national team. You don't get that opportunity unless you're good.

To draft Enyeart a GM needs patience and a willingness to take the heat if her pro debut won't happen until the season after next. It will likely be months before her recovery can be tested and measured. No one can say when she will be game-ready. Anyone who's seen her play knows her brilliance. May we all see her shine again at the next level.

Exactly - I assume Michelle will not be playing the upcoming season, but nowadays these injuries heal as good as new after a year or so. However, because of the newness of the league and its probably tenuous condition, teams may look for a player who can contribute immediately. I suspect Michelle will be drafted, but down a ways. She will be a GREAT bargain if that happens.

i expect, regardless of kelsey's top notch defensive front, will be drafted first. you don't get invited to the national team if you're not good, not saying that michelle isnt. tiffeny just might get her wish an find michelle as her teammate.

I think that's almost a guarantee that she'll slide in the draft and be a bargain.

Back to fozziewozzie's question about Janelle Jacka, in the spring her dad told me that she was looking ahead to law school.

I think Janelle is going to take some time off before law school and do something along the lines of Teach for America. I know she has coached soccer and really liked it. I'd love to see her carefully think through law as a career and maybe seriously try teaching high school and coaching first.
