UCLA games in playoffs: they scored 7 in R1, 5 in R2, 3 in R3, so they will score 1 in R4.

Portland has scored 4, then 2, then 4. So we'll score 2 again.

2-1 Portland. Simple.

I just hope UCLA isn't going down by prime numbers. Then they would be due for 2 and it's a shootout....

But they would score 1 and we would score 4. Very Happy

It's time we put UCLA down!!!

This is not the same team that lost in the Quarters the last three seasons.

When I think of VT beating UNC this season, and how we dominated them tonight, I think the Pilots know that something very special may very well await them in the next couple of weeks. Very Happy

The way the Pilots are firing on all cylinders, I have the greatest faith in what they can achieve on the road. 3 down, 3 to go.

With 1 not being a prime number, they'd have nowhere to go and they'd shank all their PKs.

We need to stop our trend of allowing a goal after our first goal of the night.

Another trend:

I just saw a teaser for the MLS Cup and apparently the LA Galaxy have won the title twice...I'll let you guess which two years.

Answer: 2002 and 2005
So we should all be Galaxy fans for that game.

I agree, less than 60 seconds after our goals, we have been letting the teams get one in for themselves. We need our ladies to refocus on defense and not let up for a second, but keep the intensity up!

A trend we need to continue: We've set our team goals record at 82 (The old UP team record was 79...by the second national championship team, I believe.) We've got to continue to convert goals as team defense gets tighter again.

So following my earlier "logic" we score 2 against UCLA, then 4 in the SF, and 2 in the final. For a grand total of 90 goals for the season.

Very Happy

If we score 4 against Stanford, I'll be real happy.

This time of year be happy with any 1-0 win and not having to go to PKs. No sure thing on Pks, Even 2005 came down to Christine having to make her kick for the win.

We have only one win against UCLA (For our last title in 2005 with 4-0 result) Here is the press release from before they came a year ago on Labor Day weekend.

Portland-UCLA Series
UCLA holds a 6-1-0 record all-time against the Pilots, including a 3-1 mark during the NCAA
playoffs. Portland’s lone victory came in the 2005 championship game, a 4-0 win. The Bruins
have bounced Portland from the playoffs the last two years in quarterfinals matches hosted in
Los Angeles. This will be the second time that UCLA has visited Merlo Field (1997 playoffs).

I thought the wet field hurt us two years ago. This year the forecast for Sat is 69 degrees and sunny ('sunny')

If the degree to which Pilots fans care about their team can make a diffference, the Pilots will win for sure. I can't make the trip myself but wish a bon voyage to those purple-clad fans who will fly, drive or otherwise find their way to the game.

some of the drum squad are trying to work it out to be down there for the game! I hope they can make it to show those Bruin fans what PurplePride is all about!
