Pro-Pilots prediction: Pilots 89 Oregon 75 Any takers?

Not a bet, just a question....

I have heard that some Pilots fans will be attending this game at 5pm on Saturday in the Matthew Knight Arena...however, I will not because the Pilots women's team will be playing their first WCC game of the season at home at the same time against San Diego.

The men's game will be televised on the Pac-12 Network, the women's game will NOT be televised.

Watching the UC-Riverside/Oregon game last night, I am convinced Oregon is beatable, but the Pilots are going to play them evenly on the boards and hit their 3-pointers and free throws.

Last evening, Riverside was only 6-23 outside the arc and only took 10 free throws, making 7.  I think it's obvious the Pilots will shoot in excess of 20 3s on Saturday, but they are also going to have to get to the line 20 times, IMO...and Alden Applewhite can be a big part of that by slashing to the rim instead of settling for 3-point attempts.

Stopping UO's points in the paint may be difficult, they scored 34 last night, but if Pilots can harass the Duck outside shooters into missing...the Pilots have a chance.

Agreed. The Pilots need to shoot 35-40% from the 3 to secure the victory. On defense they need to get N'Faly Dante in foul trouble and maybe Joey can manage to push him away from the basket, which is a very difficult task. If the Pilots can stay close through half-time, I believe they can pull away and coast to a victory. Oregon's defense is not as tenacious as North Carolina or Michigan State.

Headed to the game tomorrow with 22 new Pilot fans, including Oregon Ducks 1970's favorite son, Ronnie Lee, who is going not necessarily to support the Pilots, but to support my son #31 who is a red-shirt. We will be seated behind the bench with other Pilot fans and the South Eugene High School basketball team, that is also there to support my son. Looking forward to the game and we plan to make so much noise that it just may feel like a Pilot home game...

This Oregon squad is very beatable. I keep waiting for the Pilots to put it all together.

I was telling that myself the entire game.

But they never did.

No post game radio.

I have to give it to Altman, he had a very good game plan. That's not to say that we didn't, but once we had a difficult time putting the ball in the basket, the UP game plan became irrelevant. I was sitting next to a Duck fan who chimed in that AP shoots a lot, which really isn't true...but Altman made it so tonight by locking down everyone else. It was a masterclass.

Difficult to say what the new floor will look like, but just seeing the outline of the electrical cord going to the sander makes one hope there will be a return to the Duck...
