Bushnell, Ugh

Trying to watch the 2nd half and participate in a Zoom meeting. A meaningless blowout win and an ankle injury. Yuck.

Nothing super exciting for a NAIA game. Bushnell had a whole lot of in-and-outs (missed baskets, not the burgers). No Meadows. I'd say a relative balance of rotating out players, though J-Mo probably wanted Nduka out a little earlier. Svetozarevic stepped on a Bushnell's players foot and sprained his ankle and didn't return, will probably be out for awhile.

Heard WEC Administration will say Santa Clara was not a forfeit but a “no contest.” Are any of us going to challenge this, at least by writing a strong letter maybe even for the UP “Beacon.”
Someone needs to call this out as if allowed to stand without protest why wouldn’t Division 1 teams make a practice of this to improve their position?

Ugh is an apt description.  We defended well but didn’t shoot well. It wasn’t that fun to watch.  Bushnell has a good group of athletes for the level they’re at, but we just overwhelmed them.  I did enjoy seeing Wendal Wyatt.  I hope he sticks around and develops - looks like a great shooter.

If so, Wyatt, a walk-on, will graduate in May and move on with his life...
