The back-to-back return game, following the hard-fought game Saturday. This game should demonstrate the mental toughness of the Pilots.

Got a call from nice young man in AD —-all seats to remaining games, including lower section for $5.
We are season ticket holders but bought one for a friend and therefore my call.
Great idea. Empty seas are frustrating.
There is a code which AD is sending.
This is positive but we need toorganize
Our motto : “we went to a party and a basketball game broke,”
I will contact AD to plan for next year
There must be Benchmark schools that had the same problem and we should copy if makes sense.
Anyone with me.
We would be stronger as a “pilot nation” group.
We are season ticket holders but bought one for a friend and therefore my call.

This comment by me on the first USF thread is pre-Legans thinking. A Porter team losing a tough game like the first one would have been blown out in the rematch. Legans has these players believing! And now me!

I was actually going to post "I liked the part when we were up 14-3" but this was a lot better.
There was a lot I was going to say about dumb turnovers and dumb fouls and oh god Meadows is out and all but Sjolund, holy mother of Mary, absolute clutch with those threes.

Only two FTs from the bench players. The starters got all the rest. Sjolund with 23 points, 18 rebounds, 1 steal and only 2 turnovers. What a game!
Massalski was only 3-11 from the floor, after going 10-12 Saturday. And getting 5 of 8 FTs, so obviously the team got the message to put him on the line.

Sure fire recipe for an upset victory on the road:
Play almost the entire game without a real point guard or center
Give up an 11 point first half lead and trail at halftime
Shoot 32% from the field
Allow opponent +13 field goal attempts
Allow opponent 17 offensive rebounds
Commit 14 turnovers to only 8 assists
Do these things and victory shall be yours.

I checked in here midway through the second and saw there were no in-game posts. Zero chance I was going to mess with that!!!
Huge, huge, huge win. Gave the Dons all they could handle at Chiles, then beat them in SF and without Meadows!!
I am so excited for the future of this program. Actually I am excited for the NOW of this program. This team is just plain fun to watch.

Yeah, me too. In fact, I was going to call BlackSheep to make sure he was watching the finish, but I couldn't do it until the score was up 4 with 1.1 seconds to go. Any earlier would have jinxed it.
Did the camera even catch the final 3P shot at the buzzer to close it to a one point victory?
FYI, Pilots were 18 point underdogs before the game. Now 12-7-2 against the spread.

200 was my expectation for a good first year for Legans. 150 is where I put a wildly successful year. There's still a chance for wildly successful to happen.

I had to leave canadagael's house after the under-8 timeout in the second half which I thought for sure would mess with the good juju.
But it did not, and I just rewatched those final 8 minutes. I think my favourite part (well maybe besides Sjolund hitting that ridiculous corner three) was the play-by-play guy's hot mic at the very end. "I thought we were gonna be promoting 20 wins but I guess that ain't happening" hahaha

At first I was thinking, this must be our first Quad 1 victory in 5 years! But then I remembered that we beat OSU in Corvallis last season.

I went to the Don's chat room this morning. The best comment was something along the lines of "If only Golden could have know how competitive Portland would be. If only there was recent and relevant film to learn from." Very mixed feelings about whether this destroys their dance hopes. In the post game interview, Golden said they could afford to lose one, but not another. Also said Sjolund was the best player on the floor last night.

Also, the Pilots now have more Quad 1 wins than the University of North Carolina Tar Heels (as well as Syracuse, Virginia Tech, Boston College, Clemson, Pitt, Georgia Tech - almost half the ACC combined!

Something else I noticed, Legans now has 12 total wins on the season. Porter only ever had 11 at most.
