USF at Chiles, 2/5 5:00pm

Early game tonight, not sure why.  Also a double header with the women.  The game is broadcast on KRCW channel 703 on Comcast.

They are led by three seniors, with Jamaree Bouyea averaging 18 ppg, Yauhen Massalski at 14 ppg and Khalil Shabazz with almost 13 ppg.  They are 5-3 in conference, losing to GU, SMC and BYU.  But they are coming off a 14 point road win at BYU in the rematch.  Their guards are very quick, one of the best tandems in the league.  They shoot 44.6% of their shots from 3P range, averaging 35% on them.  Massalski at 6'9" 240# is their inside guy; he had a double double at BYU with 16 points and 13 rebounds.

The is the first of a back-to-back with USF, playing again on Monday Tuesday there.

USF is currently favored by 15, with an over/under of 142. Interesting the Vegasinsider site shows USF as the home team.

I could have handled a missed shot at the buzzer much better than a turnover. I fear that the rematch will not be pretty.

If you didn't hear the radio post game, Coach said that their big guy was 10-12 on layups, and that never should have happened. He's a 50% career FT shooter, and the Pilots were supposed to put him on the line with fouls stopping his layup attempts. We'll see if they try that Tuesday.

Overall, a great game and so fun to watch us play a good team and actually have an opportunity to win at the end. Very very impressive for a first year coach and team. Love to listen to Legans. He just loves his players, believes in them, and is so confident about our potential.
