Game day traffic question Empty Game day traffic question

Sorry if this is the wrong place for this question, but I would love any advice any of you have about a quicker way to get to the Chiles Center from S.E. I either get on I-5 at the Morrison Bridge or I take Grand all the way up before cutting over. With I-5, traffic can be really bad by the Moda Center, and going all the way up Grand doesn't seem to save me any time.

I have a feeling my only option is leaving really, really early, but I'm hoping someone knows of another, quicker way.

Go up 33rd to Killingsworth and across

It's city traffic, but you don't get bogged down in the Lloyd center area.

Even if you go North to Fremont and West  to Williams it avoids most rush hour stuff.

I then go West on Ainsworth to Greeley, depending on the lights.

They are all surface streets, but I never get bogged down waiting for that second light, and Ainsworth has very few.

If it's just game day Moda traffic, continue over the Morrison Bridge, work your way over to 405 and cross the Fremont bridge.

If it's bad traffic all the way on I-5, there is no good way. Maybe cross the Morrison Bridge, get on front (Naito), and cross the Willamette at the St. Johns Bridge.

On weeknight games, I usually am departing from the north end of downtown, and I cross the Broadway Bridge, and get onto Interstate Ave. Traffic is usually stop and go until you can turn left onto Greeley, but usually still faster than I-5. It takes about as much time to get from Broadway & Burnside to near the Widmer Gasthouse as it does from there the rest of the way to the Bluff. There are some days where there is just no good option, but I may try using the St. John's Bridge one of these times...

Agreed w/ Geez - Ainsworth is fantastic bypass street... maybe 2-3 lights between Fernhill Park and MLK. You can always go all the way up to Lombard too - as long as you're not close to the 205 onramps, there is rarely much traffic.

If you're in close-in SE, 12th is a pretty good street to go up too - usually better than Grand/MLK, anyway - and you can still cross over 84. 15th isn't too bad either, going north from Broadway.

If you're coming from downtown I'd recommend getting onto 405 to go over the Fremont Bridge. Hop onto I5 for just a bit and take the first exit (Killingsworth/Alberta). That puts you onto Going, which you can take to cross Interstate Ave and head toward Swan Island, and take the Greeley N exit, OR you can take a right off the exit and go up to Killingsworth, and then take a left to cross over Interstate. That's a good way to bypass all the Rose Quarter/84 traffic, and at least some of the Greeley traffic.

I owned a split windshield van like that, but not those colors.

If they were those colors Krylon would have gotten rich off me.
