West Coast Conference Presents: TheW.tv
WCC wrote:The West Coast Conference announced on Wednesday the formal launch of TheW.tv, the home for WCC sports action on both linear television and in the digital space. TheW.tv will deliver West Coast Conference live games, regular studio programming, and exclusive live coverage from every WCC championship free of charge, featuring the tagline, “All the action. Anytime. Anywhere.”

"We are thrilled to bring our fans more live and on-demand content than ever before from every West
Coast Conference sport through virtually every platform,” said Commissioner Jamie Zaninovich.
“Whether you’re near your television, computer, mobile device, or tablet – live or on-demand, West Coast
Conference action is never more than a click away. With TheW.tv, we are striving to bring the games and
highlights to our fans – wherever they might be.”

Launched in beta last year, the on-line platform, powered by Campus Insiders, will provide more than 125
free live TV-quality broadcasts of West Coast Conference sports throughout the year – including a robust
soccer and volleyball “Game of the Week” schedule beginning later this week. During the basketball
season, Campus Insiders will produce at least 20 games exclusively for the digital platform while also
taking another 40+ West Coast Conference regional telecasts out of market exclusively in the digital
space – all at no cost to the viewer.

All the action. Anytime. Anywhere....unless you happen to be in Canada, in which case content is not authorized for your location.

I wonder if this station will be as available as the PAC12 channel, which is to say not at all.

Really? I would think the internet knows no boundary....or are you talking TV only?

I didn't move to Canada during the Vietnam War era, and I probably won't move there now as I close in on retirement, but if you can't get UP sports....why even consider living in Canada! tongue

Hmmm....is that because you have satellite?  Although I'm not a great fan of the Comcast prices that go up every year, I do like their programming, which includes the Pac 12 network, and theirs DVRs, which make "time shifting" a snap. pirat

I don't think it is a TV channel... I think it is a re-brand of their online video presence. So, not the same as Pac-12 Network. Maybe I am reading something wrong. It might be accessible on TV, but is not a TV station. The content will be TV quality though.

Here's what comes up when I go there (this isn't uncommon for me...lots of YouTube clips give me this, even) -

As with any "local" broadcasts of ANY team...I will just wait to see if they do us justice. The first half of the schedule tends to favor that Southern state that we are required to abut.

For those of you who watch games online, I have a couple questions.  I missed quite a few road basketball games this year because I wasn't able to be at the computer to watch the stream live.  I just came across thew.tv's on demand section.  Do games show up pretty quickly after the are over or does it take a while?

Also, has anyone watched on their tv using chromecast, roku, or another way?

If they would just put all Pilot games on tv so I could record them, things would be much easier for me!

I've only had to watch a couple of games on TheW.TV, but they were up almost instantly after the game was played.

I only have one way to watch the games.....through my Comcast wi-fi to my laptop to my tethered 60" TV.

I don't speak all those other languages you mention..... Embarassed

Thanks, DoubleDipper. That's good news for me.

It seems like your set up might be the easiest way to go for me too.
