I havent seen Wally in person yet, so I will refrain from voting until then. A lot will depend on the "personality"...

Re: What's your opinion of the new Wally?
I'm with Pilot Nut on this subject. Will Wally be a lump on a log, or try to hard to entertain and be a distraction? Or, hopefully he will be a crowd entertaining, fan unifing, mascot. The Jurys out .......Plus the first preformer who's Wally may not be the "right" person. It may take a while.
Having a mascot back is GRREEAATT though!!!

Even though he does look like a relative of Gaston, I am just happy there is a mascot to begin with, but again until I see a full performance in a game and whatnot... I will reserve judgment.
For those of you not catching my Disney reference, I'm talking about this guy:

The fists up thing seems kind of taken from the whole Fighting Irish type of a deal. So, we have our fighting Wally now...

Re: What's your opinion of the new Wally?
Saw Wally tonight for the first time in person... I have to say I was a bit skeptical after seeing the photos and videos... however, I was impressed tonight. I liked him. He was interacting with the crowd very well (but not over the top) and isnt as "freaky" looking in person. Wally was wearing a soccer uniform shirt which looked MUCH better than the shirt in most of the pics.
I approve. Go Wally!

Thanks for the Wally "reports" guys. I know I'm becoming an "over the top" Pilot athletics fan when I look foward to my first mascot review with bated breath, lol.(Not to mention dressing the poor family dog in a Pilot BB shirt).

WOW!!! Are you serious , they have them??? I'm sure it will go great with my new "Commish of official's" Dave Libbey suit, tie and mask at the Pepperdine and Loyola MT. games . Thanks for the imfo PPT.
Lets see....Rip City Trailblazers jersey, Wally Soccer shirt.....Man that means I'm gonna have to go back to work tomorrow morning to save up some more money. And to think I was retired.....

Re: What's your opinion of the new Wally?
What size for a Rhodesian Ridgeback 24 inch arms, not 24" biceps??? lol .Your funny geez , almost fell off my chair after reading that one. Mesa and his Dog , I think I'll look funny at the Chiles in my Libbey Mask, three piece suit, with dog in tow attired in Wally outfit.
You think that might be a little over the top for the Loyola Mnt and Pepperdine Game's??? I might need PP13 and the rest of the students to sneak me in past security, lol.

Orgon has pretty lenient laws on service animals.
You could just walk in the front door and tell them the dog is for stress relief.
Or walk in the back door and tell them you are the Frisbee act for halftime.

Re: What's your opinion of the new Wally?
Speaking of which, will they ever bring back those Frisbee dogs for half-time at Merlo? Always liked them.
Thought Wally was received pretty well at the Cal game last week... fans seemed to cheer whenever he walked by, and the kids around me seemed excited. He may not be perfect, but it is definitley nice to have a mascot again. I'm warming to him very quickly.
