So, as Milbrett's tryout for the WPS continues, it sounds like she's leaving a good impression. Surprise, surprise.

I received an e-mail stating that she was representing the team at a promotional event too. So, they are obviously aware of her star power. It seems like yesterday that I was taking classes with her at UP... Go Millie!

Thanks for sharing the Tiffeny update, AJ. My Pilots soccer experience really took off when, driving home in SW Portland, I did a double-take when passing at a pedestrian and realized it was Tiffeny -- and that she was a close neighbor. She lived just up the block from my family and took lots of dog walks and training walks past our house, to the delight of my soccer-loving daughters and me. She would often stop to talk -- about gardening, her mom, the Pilots or other topics -- and was always friendly, open and gracious. When she was recovering from a knee problem (meniscus, I recall) and had to take her walks on crutches, and I wouldn't have bet much on the prospects of her playing again at a high level. Aging knees and soccer is a tough mix. Seeing her score her 100th international goal at Merlo vs. Ukraine was a thrill. I'm glad that she has gas in her tank and her pedal to the metal. More power to Tiff!

What a great person to have as a neighbor. I had Tiffany in several classes at UP, and I have a few good Tiffany memories. One of my favorites was when she snatched away Dr. Pierce's (a Communication Program professor) fanny back and leapt onto the top of a picnic table during a potluck with all of the Communication Majors. Then she said something like, "So, now we resolve the mystery of what is inside of Dr. Pierce's fanny pack!!!" She removed some pretty innoccous things like a pencil and some other stuff, but, all the same it was pretty hilarious. I saw her at a concert a few years later too... She'll always be one of my favorites...

I guess that will just move her Pilot Hall of Fame induction back a few more years.

Shocking development! Milbrett seemed to make the team with the recent trimming of the roster from 28 to 24...according to an e-mail that I received from the team today. Was there ever any doubt?

Brandi and Tiff have star power and name recognition. Having them on the roster makes marketing sense. I hope they can still play at a high level.
