USA V. Germany *spoiler alert*

Post by Auto Pilot on Thu Dec 04, 2008 2:33 pm

USA up one nile by a crashing goal by Leroux. Assist on a beautiful cross in a display of speed, strength and ball handling. Keelin and Ellie have started both are playing well. Ellie in her right back and Keelin in the Mid.

Leroux is deceptively fast, she doesn't look like she is moving swiftly, yet she blows by defenders. Fast is Washington, Old Rampone and Rodriguez, they are fast no matter how you look at it.

Own Goal! Nikki Washington cross and the ball goes off of #7 and into the back of the net.

U.S. 1 - germany nil

they are crediting Sydney Leroux with the goal but she never got a touch on the ball...

Hey, y'all, where are you picking up the video feed. I've tried to get the feed off of the FIFA sight with no luck.

Halftime USA 1-0. USA dictating pace. Leroux may not have touched but she gave her defender a ride into the goal mouth.

Poopdeck Pappy I am watching ESPNU

Forgot to add who created that goal. Nikki Washington down the right side.

Germany has figured out not to attack down our right side Wahington/Reed) and is now testing the left.

There was no love for the USA today either in the stadium or the broadcasting booth. Announcer even said we used "quiestionable tactics" and "winning ugly". I thought we played to win and Germany was too little too late.

Did you all see the highlights of the other semifinal, one of North Korea's goals should not of counted, they were blatantly offsides.

Agreed it was a huge non-call by the otherwise good performance by the AR on far side of the field. Center ref wears a head phone and is in constant communication with the fourth official, fifa mafia? The fans were pretty loud in favor of DPR. So calling back two against them might have been too much to ask. That game should have gone into overtime as France had the better posession. However, give it to the DPR for great counterattacking. They will give the US a game that is for sure.

However, I think this year's U-20s are better than the fourth place team in Russia the last go around. So I expect a real battle royale as the Koreans played a very punishing physical game against France. They have very quick feet and very solid defensively. They also seem to like to play defense and get the counter attacks going. France was using the offside trap very well. Until they got a non call which cost them the match.
