I for one would give anything to see him on the sidelines again...

And don't let the act fool you, as a musician he's the real deal. In lessons with him he taught me most of what I know. The postive energy he showed at games carries over to the rest of his life and is an example to every one of his students and fellow musicians.

Lastly, most sports commentators tend to embarrass themselves when trying to speak of matters beyond what's actually happening in the game...

This is a great loss. I always looked forward to the Pilot band playing during the games at Chiles. My friends and I truly enjoyed Dr. Cansler's joie de vivre! He was truly exceptional. My prayers for his family.
