Chaos in the Pac-12 Women's Tournament
The Pac-12 tournament has four play-in games for seeds 5 thru 12, then the quarterfinals, semifinals and final. The conference has two highly rated women's teams in Stanford and Utah, both top 8 in NET rankings. But things didn't go according to seedings.
In the play-in games, #5 UCLA required OT to beat #12 ASU, #9 UO edged #8 UW, #7 WSU beat #10 Cal easily, and #11 OSU beat #6 USC.
Then in the quarterfinals, #5 UCLA beat #4 UA who was rested, #1 Stanford beat #9 UO, #7 WAU beat #2 Utah (also rested), and #3 Colorado beat #11 OSU.
On the third day of play, #5 UCLA beat #1 Stanford, and #7 WSU beat #3 Colorado.
So the final was two teams from the play-in round, and #7 WSU beat #5 UCLA to lock in a trip to the NCAA tournament.
