I see the Oregonian is picking up right where it left off last season. Not one word that I could find about tonight's game in the paper today.

Good first half last night.  Not bad overall.  Is Boon injured? What about Lorielle?  Kennedy and Young look promising. Also nice to see Rachel Van Hollenbeck in the stands for a busman's holiday.

Agree, take away the one turnover and it may have ended up 0-0. It was a pretty even game. There were a couple of shaky moments here and there, but for a young team, there were a lot of positives to build on.

Very impressed with Stanford's spacing and ball movement. They also did a good job con defense. The forward that scored the goal was very fast, but the Pilots did a great job containing her.

Good soccer, great fireworks display after, a couple of amusing cheers from the student section, not a bad way to spend a Saturday night.

The Oregonian is still be published?

We have a starting line up. GS did lots of subbing first 3 games with everyone playing. Last night most starters played most of the game.

This is a very promising team. They did a great job.

Can't say they played them even. SU had 3 times as many shots. Since Foxhoven left we have had a hard time taking shots. I would like to see our D put more pressure on the ball. D is much improved since the Kentucky game, but we need to put pressure on the ball, and take away options on inbound passes.

I hope De Hanna is ok. I suspect that she does a better job directing the D than Luty. Both come out for the ball aggressively. Luty has a great foot.

What I really want to say is this:
"With a young team you don't judge them after 12 days of preseason and after playing two top-10 teams, which included a long road trip," head coach Garrett Smith said. "This team is continuing to grow and establish who they are. We're not going to get there overnight, but I think you should really start looking at us a month from now when we get some more games and practices under our belt. The rate that we've improved from the level where we were for the Kentucky game is remarkable.

"We're definitely not comfortable losing, but we played the No. 5 team in the country tonight, made one mistake and they capitalized."

Well said, coach.

Let's see how this team looks after the next 7 games: Dartmouth, Wisconsin, Miami, San Diego State, Oregon State, Seattle and, finally, Washington.

I think that there will be a clearer sense of the starting line up, allowing for injuries, and a better idea of how good they might be heading into conference play.

I missed the game on Saturday so may drive up to Seattle on Sunday morning to offset that!

Hopefully,  McCluskie isn't out too long, could use her senior leadership on the backline.  It will be interesting to see what happens when Boon is ready to play, Kennedy will be tough to keep out of the starting line-up. He may want to start both, so one could end up in the midfield.

Didn't know McCluskie and Boon were injured. La Provette didn't come in until there was just about 10 minutes left. Given the over all lack of subbing I suspected it was coaches decision.
Sorry to hear they hurt, glad to hear they will be back. McCluskie is one of my favorite players.
I hope De Haan will be ready sooner. She was in a lot of pain.

Boone and McClusky did not wear shin guards.

That doesn't necessarily mean a lot. Wetherington didn't wear shin guards last week
