Wow! this happens quicker every cycle, it seems.  These players get to go out as champs if they take care of business.

Then, on tho the Tournament!

Polishing up the cowbell now.

Putting some Pliny and mugs on ice for after.

There were six recruits with the team before the game on Saturday. Two left early - Hannah Griffiths-Boston and Taylor Luty. They were facing each other in the 6A playoffs for Grant and Sunset. With Ms. Downing's departure Taylor Luty (a GK) has a big opportunity.

Can anyone comment on her GK abilities?

From the couple of Sunset games I've seen, she has good potential. She didn't get tested a lot, but came out a couple of occasions to tip crosses away. She's about 6 ft., so she definitely has height as an advantage on high balls. Her goal kicks and drop kicks got good distance.

I saw the second half of the Grant v. Sunset game and my observations match those of keeper. Tall, vocal, good command of the area, distance on kicks. Goes without saying that it's a huge step up to D1.

But we've seen three local girls make that transition at Merlo this season in Ariel Viera, Ellie Boon, and Parkes Kendrick.

Would be great to see another player from hereabouts make it at UP.
