Re: 2013 Playoff sites
On the attendance topic, our daughter is considering Brown University. She was looking at their women's soccer page and came across this stat. Home Attendance average - 186. No wonder kids are awed by the Merlo experience.

Re: 2013 Playoff sites
If you look at my 16 seeds, who might be paired up second weekend in 3rd round if they make it that far:
UCF/FL, NEB/A&M, MQ/Mich, Vir/WV, FSU/S. Car, VT/PSU, UP/UCLA, WSU/UNC.
We'll see tomorrow when bracket comes out.

Re: 2013 Playoff sites
If you have UCLA as a #1 seed and the Pilots as a #3 seed, the Pilots can't be playing UCLA in the third round. They'd have to be playing a #2 seed in the third round. Wouldn't they?gnarly wrote:If you look at my 16 seeds, who might be paired up second weekend in 3rd round if they make it that far:

Re: 2013 Playoff sites
I think they'd be playing Marquette in the gnarly bracket.

Re: 2013 Playoff sites
Hardly worth spending time on bracket when folks like AWK come up with logical bracket and committee does things like W. Mich to MQ and Mil to Michigan. Same for SWAC: Jackson St going to unseeded Ole Miss, while seeded UCF gets rpi 36 St Johns. UCLA could play local and weaker CS-Ful at 103 arpi instead they get SD St 82. Of the 32 first round pairings that AWK has, he only matched something like 5 in final bracket.

Let's face it. We've known for years that the NCAA committee are bonkers. Pilots have been screwed numerous times. No real complaints this year though?

Re: 2013 Playoff sites
No complaints from me, they got seeded right where I thought they should based on the NCAA criteria. Some of the Committee's other seeds are controversial or questionable, but not our #3.
As a matter of interest, I've gone back and used my computerized system to apply the criteria to each of the last six years and I haven't found any treatment of the Pilots that was contrary to the criteria. In seeding, occasionally the Committee's decisions are hard to explain, but overall they aren't that far off. ... This year may be an exception.

The seeding hasn't been an issue.
But having a #1 or #2 seed travel year after year was idiotic. Hopefully those days are over.
