Re: 2013 Season questions.....
Frisbie will get a lot of attention from opposing teams, which should create more opportunities for others on the pitch.
Missouri Athletic Club has also noticed and has put Amanda on the preseason Hermann trophy watch list.

Re: 2013 Season questions.....
Why would the Pilots move Frisbie to D and lose all those points?
Could it be that they think Capelle and possibly Evans are just as explosive?
Did she acquiesce? If so she's the ultimate team player.
Many soccer coaches build from the back and they did give up some goals last year. So maybe that was the thinking.....

Re: 2013 Season questions.....
Some defenders not only defend, but also are capable of starting a run, giving an assist, or even scoring...I'm thinking Jessica Tsao as an example.

Re: 2013 Season questions.....
They may have moved Amanda back there to counter the speed of some opponents front lines. That has been a soft spot for the defense the past few seasons. The Pilots have had strong central defenders but speedy forwards gave them problems.

Re: 2013 Season questions.....
Did Parker get hurt against Marquette? She was pulled in the 2nd half for Parkes, and didn't come back in. Then tonight at Oregon I don't think she played at all.
Against Marquette, I thought Kurle was the player of the match. She was a wall at holding mid.
Both Frisbie and Viera had plays where they were beat but recovered enough to disrupt the Marquette attacker. Viera in particular had many plays where she knocked Marquette off the ball and came out with it.
Cruz had many long runs with the ball into the heart of the Marquette defense. I think as the season progresses those advances will be productive with goals or assists.
Sippel was active and aggressive and also had many long runs. She tended to hold the ball too long at times though.
Like someone said earlier, Evans appears to be a legitimate 10, always looking for shots and very strong and aggressive on the ball. Marquette's 2nd half strategy with her appeared to be hit her hard and often.
Parkes came in for attacking mid and was very active. Tonight against Oregon she was tenacious and won many balls vs. the Ducks.
Finally, is LaPrevotte hurt? She's had 2 cameo appearances.

Re: 2013 Season questions.....
LaPrevotte has had a cast on her hand for several weeks, not sure what the problem is.

Re: 2013 Season questions.....
Are Bindl and Jeter also hurt? I believe neither has played yet.

Re: 2013 Season questions.....
Jeter and Wetherington are the two who haven't been practicing. I don't know about Bindle. I haven't heard about Cameli's timeline for recovery, either. The season is young. We will need them all.

Especially getting Wetherington back. She will be a difference maker when she's added to the midfield.
