Re: RPI v. 1.0
Hmm, that link doesn't work for me, neither can I gain access to the womentalksports website using either Chrome or IE. I'm wondering where they got that report, as it is not posted on the NCAA's website yet.
Plus, by my and nc-soccer's calculations, it looks like their first five out and second five out have left out some teams. Everything else is in order. I'm still waiting for an official release of the NCAA's RPI ranks so I can check and see whether they've changed the formula since last year. Hopefully not.
FURTHER EDIT: The link now works, and the womentalksports article actually was taken from All White Kit. The information there is not based on the NCAA's official RPI but rather on nc-soccer's calculations (which match mine) of the RPI assuming there have been no as-yet undisclosed changes since last year.
I figured out that the teams that were left out of the first five out and second five out are teams with current records below 0.500 who therefore would not qualify for at large selections if the selections occurred today.
I'm expecting the NCAA's first official release of its RPI rankings to come out tomorrow, although it might not be until Wednesday.

Chris at AWK already pointed out one error.
The NCAA has Oregon at 5-1-3 (48) when their actual record is 5-3-2(70).
Even if you discount last night's loss to BYU, they are 5-2-2.
Since we played Oregon, that will affect our RPI.
There might be other errors as well, which shows what a service UPSF and NC-Soccer are doing for women's soccer.
Years ago, this might have gone uncorrected.

Re: RPI v. 1.0
I don't understand why it is that we dropped out of the NSCAA rankings, but are still ranked via the RPI. I take the RPI more seriously, just because it is actual math and not perception, but we are #26 otherwise.

Re: RPI v. 1.0
Yes, the NCAA had two game result errors, one of which was Oregon/Pacific, and four game location errors. nc-soccer and I had some errors too, but at this point we've done slightly better than the NCAA -- the score is 6 NCAA errors to 5 errors for the good guys. We're already corrected our errors, and I've sent the NCAA stats person a list of their errors, which they should correct before their RPI report next week. We might have some disagreement over whether certain games were at home or neutral sites, but for those particular games it would be inconsequential.

I don't pay attention to the popularity contests at all. Unlike the other football it really doesn't matter what the voters think.

Re: RPI v. 1.0
A quick question...when I looked at the https://www.nc-soccer.com/wsoccer/2012/index_arpi website today, I noticed that UP has a zero in the Tied 1-40 Away column. Shouldn't there be a '1' there for last night's tie with Santa Clara? Or maybe I'm not understanding how that works?
Thanks!
Thanks!

This year, the Women's Soccer Committee changed the bonus/penalty awards so that they only apply to non-conference games. The only public announcement about the change that I know of came two weeks into the season and caught everyone -- coaches included -- by surprise.
Re: RPI v. 1.0
Well, SCU played Saint Mary's and won 2-0.
the victory dropped them to #11 so we wouldn't get that bonus in any case.
