Re: NASCAR
Haha, several cars finished sideways. Biffle in the 3M car (directly behind the sideways cars in the picture) zoomed right through the middle of the wrecking cars. He'd have gained several spots if the finish line had been 100' further down the track. Ended up 17th.

Re: NASCAR
Last year's series champion, but this year's non-winner, Brad Keselowski won the pole for Sunday's race in New Hampshire. But the better news for many is that Jimmie Johnson will be forced to start last (43rd) after failing a car inspection....it should be fun to watch Johnson, who usually has the best car and races in a lot of clean air, race towards the front.
And the best news for many of us of a similar age, 71 year-old Morgan Shepherd will become the oldest driver to start a NASCAR Sprint Cup race, starting just two spots ahead of Johnson.
Greg Biffle qualified in 22nd....and Danica 32nd.
Shepherd, even with his hair colored, makes Geezer look 35…...

I wonder if he'll drive with his left turn blinker flashing?

From ESPN:
"Ten drivers topped that lap until points leader Jimmie Johnson's second-fastest qualifying time was scrapped after his car failed inspection. His No. 48 Chevrolet, which had two issues in the pre-qualifying inspection, failed after his attempt because both sides of the front were too low. He'll start in the rear in 43rd.
'We were able to get the car right,' crew chief Chad Knaus said, 'just not exactly right.'"

Re: NASCAR
Well, 5-time Jimmie Johnson is now 6-time champion. Only guys with more are Richard Petty and Dale Earnhardt with 7 each. Much as I don't like his team, it is hard to deny that he is a great driver.

Re: NASCAR
Rookie driver Danica Patrick had only one Top-10 finish (8th at Daytona) and finished 27th in the final standings (winning over $3.4 million), but she brought a lot of first-time viewers to the sport.
Personally, I liked it when she ran Indy Cars, but I predict she'll be in the Top-20 next year.....
