USA vs Brazil

An athletic moment of pure joy, almost spiritual, to which I too believe the proper reply is "amen."

Megan's soundbite was played and her name mentioned about three times in the opening segment of Mike and Mike this morning.

Don't know if anyone else heard it, and considering it was at about 3:05 Portland Daylight Time I doubt anyone did. To paraphrase, she said "Usually I hit those left footed crosses too short but this one I hit perfectly and Abby finished it. Not really sure what happened, I think I might have blacked out or something." Taking a page out of Will Ferrell's rhythmic gymnastics routing I guess.

I'm not sure where that original interview was taken from, but I am sure that someone can find the audio, or already has.

Is Rapinoe's name on those banners on the Outside wall of Merlo? It really should be if it isn't. Also, they should make a banner like the others at Merlo that are pictures of people with this picture:

Here is a YouTube clip of approximately the last seven minutes of the second overtime period of the USA-Brazil game, apparently taken by a fan in the stands. It's taken from the opposite side of the field than ESPN, and shows quite a bit more of Megan's reaction after the goal.

Just watched the clip and was so pleased to be able to experience the excitement without having to listen to Julie Foudy. Megan's reaction was perfect for the moment, especially considering the attitude of the Brazilians.

You get on the wall if you go to a World Cup or Olympics, so it will.
