Men’s Basketball Banquet Scheduled for April 14

PORTLAND, Ore. --- The University of Portland men’s basketball team will celebrate the successful 2010-11 season with its annual postseason awards banquet scheduled for Thursday, April 14. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and the program begins at 6 p.m. The event will be held at the Executive Boardroom at the Bauccio Commons on campus and is open to the public for $18 per person, which includes a buffet-style dinner. Those planning to attend must RSVP to Mary Hallinan (hallinan@up.edu, 503-943-8420) by Tuesday, April 12.

The banquet will recognize individuals for awards they have received throughout the season, the announcement of team awards, and the opportunity for the team’s four seniors to talk about their time on The Bluff. The Pilots coaching staff will also talk about the season and a highlight video will conclude the night.

The men’s basketball team secured its second consecutive 20-win season and was selected to participate in the CollegeInsider.com Postseason Tournament for the third consecutive season. The team will graduate four seniors this season: 1,000-point scorers Jared Stohl and Luke Sikma, three-time WCC All-Academic Team member Kramer Knutson, and Jasonn Hannibal.
