Playoff Tickets
Here are some choice lines from the “Dear Season Ticket Holder” letter I got today:
“Thanks for ordering your playoff tickets! The atmosphere at Merlo Field will be amazing with all of your support.”
“All playoff games are subject to change. It’s not a guarantee that we’ll host playoff games. We may host all four rounds or only one, two, or three. All of those decisions will be made once we know where we’re seeded in playoffs. The playoff brackets will be announced on Monday, November 8, for the women.”
“Go Pilots!!!”

Re: Playoff Tickets
Which year was it when the playoff tickets all sold out online in the first 20 minutes or so? I got some by being in line well ahead of time at my closest Safeway.
Does anyone think sales will be that hot this year?
I'm thinking the Pilots just got an extra lot of buzz that year; several regular season games sold out, too. This year, no games that I went to seemed to be sold out.
I'd prefer to mosey on over to the UP box office the day they go on sale, but wouldn't want to risk losing out on getting any.
Any predictions, anyone?

Re: Playoff Tickets
In 2005 the Notre Dame quarterfinal game sold out in 6 minutes.
attendance is better this year than in 2005. that year, the total attendance including playoffs was 40,841 - the first year any team went over 40K.
This year we are 37 souls-in-the-seats shy of 40K right now. we could go over 50 -55K by the end of the tournament.
I'd get the tickets.

Re: Playoff Tickets
First round it depends on who we play. I remember N AZ a couple years ago was light in attendance after we won big in reg season game. With our likely #1 seed, we might get one of the weaker teams. I remember Miss Valley got sent to UCLA a few years back when they got a 1 seed.

That light crowd in 2008 was 2,268. Elli got a hat trick. the no-shows missed a show, and we didn't have that light a crowd this year. our worst game attendance was 50% bigger.

We also played Northern Arizona the first game in the tournament that year. The attendance was 3,582 then. Kassi got her first I think.

if you are interested only in getting a seat to the first game, then maybe. But the lowest attendance I recall in the last couple years in the playoffs was 3,300 or so. If we draw UW or OSU there will be lots of local fans that first weekend.
After that, the competition gets better and the crowds get bigger.
But you'll probably have at least 6 minutes to get tickets for the quarters.
And yes, this was just a crass attempt to put those videos in front of you again.

Thanks for the crassness (is that a word). A fine reminder of how great a player Megan R. was for the Pilots.

That 2008 game was the one where I thought Elli should get outstanding defensive and offensive player of the game.

This year's classic playoff videos await. I bet there will be some good ones.

Re: Playoff Tickets
The girls sold out in I believe 30 minutes for the quarter finals vs Norte Dame in 2005. I remember because at that time I wasnt a season ticket holder an I couldnt get a ticket after attending just about every game for the last 15 years.
Geez, 6 minutes or 30 minutes, I really dont care. All I know is that after years an years of devotion I couldnt get a ticket whereas a good friend who had never ever attended a game got in because his brother was a season ticket holder! While that was chargrining, I was fortunate to get in an see the game anyway.

I have an impeccable source for 6 minutes, none other than the great Cory Alexander herself:

Read it. It's a good piece.
And yes, this was another one of those crass attempts to get you to reminisce.
