Road trip to Corvallis sounds like fun -- thanks for the info, and any time and location updates as info becomes available would be much appreciated.

It turns out the Corvalis trip will be a double header with the mens teams from both schools.
The Beavers then head home for an April 3 meeting with the University of Portland at Paul Lorenz field. The Oregon State women’s soccer team will take on the Pilots in the first game of a doubleheader that day.

not that I know of ..
I think the new sod on the Merlo Pitch means the games will be on a practice pitch or off campus.

You realize, those of you going on that Corvallis "road trip", you better take good notes because the rest of us will be coming out of our socks waiting for reports after the game.
Hopefully Ellen Parker, (isn't she the one that enrolled in college early?), will give you folks a sample or two of what she's got!

Tomorrow's weather will be wet and wild, but I still plan to go. Time to break out of hibernation and into Pilot Nation again.

I'll be there as well. I figure the stands will be largely empty, so the giant golf umbrella is coming along.
Don't forget the OSU folks are asking for some food drive donations. Don't be a piker.

Pilots won 3-0. I'll let Geezer give the details., it was a fun game until late in the 2nd half when a heavy, cold rain made an appearance.

Re: spring training
Nice start to the spring games...
Michelle O was the Goalkeeper?! Not sure if Hailee injured. I didn't spot her. She did a great job...but looked a little uncomfortable to me. Don't think she's gonna be there permanently with the 2 new GK recruits coming in in the fall.
Ellen Parker! Loved her. Played Attacking Mid. Steady, Poised and doesn't back down. Can be physical. I liked her ball control and distribution especially. Seemed to have a mature game and ready to play at the college level. With Sara Bridges coming in too...I can see why Charney considered transferring. Its going to be a competitive battle to earn some PT in the midfield this year.
Did not see Kendra and Kassie play?
Taylor?! Awesome! Played a part in 2 of the goals. She's getting that back-heeled crossover down! Used it to free up some space against her defender....and blasted a shot past the GK from about 15 yrds out on the right side of the box. Pretty move...pretty goal!
Keelin? She cut off her dreadlocks?! I was liking that look on her. Oh well...
GO PILOTS!!!

Re: spring training
I dunno - if I were an incoming keeper, I'd make sure I practiced hard between now and summer. Olivier made a nice stop on a set piece, and handled the other two SOG's comfortably. She also came out of the box a couple times to cut off runs. She is now tied for the best record in goal of all UP keepers. She's going to have to learn how to yell, though.
There were lots of slide tackles and clipped ankles in the wet conditions and several players got dinged up a little. I hope nobody has anything bad.
Taylor had to be helped off at one point (the injury looked like it might have happened shortly before her goal) but she came back a bit later, so I guess she's alright.
Parker looked a bit tentative when she came in. (to be expected) then she started doing good things towards the end.
There is a big issue with not being in game shape, though.
I froze my **s off and left before halftime of the men's game.
The shame....

Re: spring training
You didn't post from the game? What gives? No wifi at the field? Or does your shiny new iPad (you have to have gotten one of those by now; they've been out for 18 hours) not have a browser?

I'm holding out for the g3 iPad so I don't have to worry about wifi.
And no, there was none there.

Thanks.
It's there because the signature field allows a limited number of characters, but the location field doesn't have any restriction.
It's a direct Grandpa Simpson monologue.

Re: spring training
From my perspective the score was 2-0. If there was a 3rd goal, I missed it.
Kendra Chandhoke tore her ACL in national camp in December. Had surgery 2 months ago. May be back for the 2nd half of the season. I asked her father where she was and gathered that information. Where have our inside sleuths been?
Hailee DeYoung is injured, thus Michelle Olivier was the “unknown” keeper. I noticed that she kicked left-footed when she picked up the ball. So she must be good with either foot because I don’t recall her favoring one side over the other when playing her normal position.
I assume Ellen Parker was #22. I thought she looked aggressive & not afraid to get in the mix of things.
Taylor looked good & dangerous.
UP controlled the flow of the game & possession.
I was in the top row, so when the cold heavy rain came I was sheltered by the roof on the press box. And darn glad that I didn’t intend to stay for the men’s game!
