Kendall on U20 CONCACAF Roster

Kendall Johnson has been named as one of the players on the U20 roster for the upcoming CONCACAF Tournament that will determine which teams qualify for the U20 World Championships. Another recruiting coup for U of P.

Kendall was on the roster for La Manga Cup, in Spain. The US U20s won the Cup, with a 1-0 win over Norway, a 1-1 tie with Germany, and a 1-0 win over England. Kendall played the entire game in each of the three games, apparently at outside left back.

The Norway game was the first of the tournament. This about the Norway game, from the US national team's website: "[I]nspired by outside back Kendall Johnson, the USA kept a clean sheet and got its lone goal eight minutes into the second half. "

It looks like the outside back were both Oregon Kids, as Courtney Verloo had the other side.

Looks like Kendall is on the U-20 Pre-World Cup Roster.

It's looking to me, from looking at who's playing in the U-20 games, like Kendall is pretty firmly established as the primary left defender on the U-20 team.

Also, Kelsey now is looking like the starting GK on the U-23 team.

Kendall and Elli should be a nightmare combo for any opposing team this year.

Both can get forward to devastating effect, and both can defend well.

With Kendall, Elli, and Jessica, one of them will have to play midfield. I'm assuming it's Kendall.
